Det finns ett fint bett i tanninerna, och eftersmaken dröjer sig imponerande länge. Ett jättebra rött vin, som antingen måste få utvecklas i din vinkällare för att nå sin fulla potential, eller åtminstone ha ett rejält snurrande i en karaff innan det vaknar till döds.
Gianni Brunelli är vad vissa kallar en Brunello-nykomling, men i verkligheten är husets stil bara så gammaldags att de flesta felaktigt identifierar deras återkomst till den gamla goda tiden som en helt ny trend.

Vinet är gjort på druvor från två olika fält: Podernovone, som ligger på 500 meters höjd, har sydvästlig orientering och planterades 1998, och Canalicchio, som ligger på 250 meters höjd, har nordvästlig orientering och planterades i 1989 .
Skillnaderna i orientering, höjd och ålder på fälten gör det möjligt att göra ett genomgående bra vin, över årgångarnas skillnader och utmaningar. Vinet lagras i 30 månader på stora slaviska ekfat.

Expressive, with focused clarity, a great, pure feel, notes of blood orange, and mineral undercurrents all weaving together through the palate, it’s long and pure, with noble structure and balanced energy. Bursting with life and refinement, it offers nervous tension and a lingering perfume of dried apricot on the finish. At this youthful stage, there’s a hint of oak spice that frames the wine beautifully, but it demands cellaring to come together further. This is going to be one to cellar and drink over the coming decades."
